Computer Issues Cause Widespread Ground Stop For American Airlines Flights

American Airlines

American airlines have just announced that they have resolved the connectivity issue and will soon have passengers ‘on their way’

Earlier on Thursday the Federal Aviation Administration said American Airlines flights were experiencing widespread ground stops amid computer issues at hubs in Chicago, Dallas and Miami. The airline confirmed that airport computers are not allowing customers to check in. Passengers can still check in on their home computers or cell phones. The airline took to Twitter to respond to customers on the matter.

Thousands of passengers are currently stranded at Miami (MIA), Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) international airports.

In a statement the airline said: “We’re working to resolve technical issues impacting several airports as quickly as possible,” the airline said in a statement. “We will provide updates and more information as they become available. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
