Fukushima Officials: Humans Should Never Eat Fish Again

Fukushima scientists warn that humans will never eat fish out of the ocean again

Fukushima scientists have warned the public that the days of eating fish from the Pacific ocean are well and truly over.

The continual leaking of nuclear waste into the ocean is being covered-up by officials and is getting worse each day.

According to one scientist, TEPCO, the company in charge of monitoring the plant, has data that shows radiation pouring into the Pacific Ocean non-stop for the past six years.

According to other scientists who have examined the radiation levels of fish in the ocean, the days of “eating fish from the Pacific ocean are over”.

The contaminated water is believed to contain traces of radioactive iodine, cesium, and strontium-89 and 90.

Despite efforts from the Japanese government to bring the problem under control, the fish have been saturated by the continuous radiation being pumped into the ocean. The contamination has also resulted in the closure of fishing industries.

Worryingly, new studies reveal that fish caught off the West coast of the United States and in Canada are also testing positive for radiation poisoning.

Except there’s a chance that you’re leading them all off a cliff. We can live without fish. But can we live with radioactive fish? It doesn’t hurt to be at least a little wary, brother.

Conspiracy? ?? We have jst educated ourselves to know the real truth. The Government lies to the people on every level. Those who’s heads are stuck in the sand will always believe what tge Government & media tell them. The Elite /Illuminati run the world. Wake up & smell the roses.

          • Noburu Wataya

If there really was an “illuminati” and they really did run the world you would be dead. These stupid conspiracy theories are the refuge of small minded paranoids looking to blame someone else for their own failures

          • jj

What? That doesn’t make sense. If they killed every nay-sayer then they would draw attention to themselves. There is no conspiracy theory, just conspiracy. Your refuge is staying asleep and not wanting to question why things are the way they are. There is an irony in you suggesting others are small minded.

          • Darek South

            You’re an idiot.

          • Mark Mayhem

Educated yourself to know the real truth… but buy into articles whose sources dispute them or offer no sources. The good news is most of your use terms like illuminati and guide stones so that the rest of us know you are nutjobs.

      • Jan Casebolt

Yes. And, perhaps keep us sick to pump $$ into the pharmaceutical companies pockets as well.

        • Mark Mayhem

          LMAO!!! You people are hilarious.

          • Samuel Thomas Turner

There’s nothing funny about corporations withholding cures and medicines and overcharging for treatment in order to stay in business. It’s fucking sickening. Almost every corporation once they reach a certain ‘critical mass’ starts doing this shit. Look at Graphics cards for PC gaming, for fuck’s sake!! They have the capability to make games look Incredible NOW. But if everyone get’s 10 year bumps in technology at a time they will pay much much less than if they get incremental, minor, at times inconsequential upgrades once per year for Full price.

It’s all a right farce my friend Mark Mayhem, we live in a time fresh out of medieval periods, where people are still very much at the mercy of the power of gold coins and fight for their seats of power and complacency with big, stupid swords that wreck everything for the entire species and sly cutthroat lying advertisement tactics

          • Mark Mayhem

You really want to compare PC graphics cards with pharmaceuticals? So when you work, do you do it for free or is that power of the gold coins a driving factor? Like I said, you people are hilarious.

          • Philmo

The comparative principle of the rip-off comparison is entirely valid Mark – don’t take things so literally! If your command of argument in English is so limited then butt out of it!

You are the idiot conspiracy theorist and have no place telling anyone else what to do.

And AIDS was made from the polio vaccine. Idiot. I hope to God you didn’t reproduce. Lol what am I thinking…. You would have to be with a woman to do that (mom doesn’t count….. well…. maybe where your logic is from its socially acceptable to have intercourse with relatives.
            .. remember… the hills have eyes….)

          • Saxon Edmonds

AIDS is just the scratch on the surface. Small Pox, Rhubella, the flu, down syndrome, huntingsons disease, male pattern baldness and mono are just a small list of other diseases caused by so called “vaccines”, but you’ll never hear about that on the news. No stay under your rock and maybe some day you’ll be given a cheap gold watch and a severance package. Whatever keeps the gears grinding!

          • Mark Mayhem

You are a low life conspiracy ass clown that has had nothing of importance to say. Wallowing in fake news as though it is real. Fuck off.

          • Skyé Anderson

Really? AIDS was made from the polio vaccine? Could you possibly make a more ridiculous claim than that? Probably. You could say the Earth is flat. And then the guy below saying a whole long list of diseases that have plagued mankind since long before the first medicine… never mind the first vaccine… yet have somehow caused the diseases? You don’t hear about it on the news because even completely immoral sensationalist newshounds won’t write as much utter crap as you lot spew out on a daily basis. You clowns are priceless, and hopeless. Please die now of something horrible and completely preventable. Thanks.

          • Zig

Actually, Rolling Stone had a great article a couple decades ago about aids and polio vaccine distributed by missionaries in africa. HIV in primates had been around forever…but it was theorized that local production of polio vaccine using ape/chimpanzee tissue to cultivate it was where the virus jumped the genetic firewall and crossed into the human population. Not saying it’s true….but it is a viable theory……….

          • Trey McCarthy

They said Roosevelt knowing Pearl Harbor was going to be attacked was a conspiracy theory, until it proved true. They said the Gulf of Tonkin incident being a mix of distorted reports and intentional lies was just a ‘conspiracy’ theory until it proved true. JFK- check the second committee’s findings. MK Ultra, U.S. govt. working with Monsanto against opponents of GMOs, fluoride in drinking water, NSA spying on Americans’ phone calls & web searches and financial transactions. And then there’s this classic- The Federal Reserve Is A Perpetual Debt Machine That Is Designed To Create Inflation. Since the Federal Reserve was created back in 1913, the U.S. national debt has gotten more than 5000 times larger, and the value of the U.S. dollar has fallen by more than 96 percent. But yeah, all nonsense, right?

          • Mark Mayhem

Herein lies the problem with nutjob conspiracy theorists, they believe that if they claim one of their wackjob ideas has been proven that it is so. It has never been proven to be true that Roosevelt knew anything about the attack on Pearl Harbor. Conspiracy nuts are still clamoring for unreleased classified information and that whole incident is considered a conspiracy theory. I am not bothering going through any of the other statements because you aren’t even bothering to support your notions, just asserting that there is evidence to what you are saying… a similar tactic in this crackpot article. The rest is just background noise of things that were and are non-issues, apropos for the time and our technological limitations when communicating, and more crap where you are making claims that there still is no proof of other than the madness of the paranoid. So yeah, it is all nonsense.

          • BlaqCeeza

            It was an analogy.

          • Samuel Thomas Turner

I didn’t compare the two in the context you thought of. The context you’re thinking of, is one where I’m a fucking idiot, because you’re knee deep in a cesspool of pointless insults on this page and clearly in no mood to be a decent person. And neither am I, now, you piece of shit. 8)

I’m seeing a whole bunch of hatred come from you, aimed at literally everyone who is concerned about this video. What makes you so fucking special? Are you privy to information that We, your fellow ‘sheeple peeples’ are not? If so, then fucking share it. Behaving like this is the equivalent of that shitty rich kid who got a BB gun for christmas and won’t let any of the poorer kids on the street play with it. Yes I just compared you to a shitty bratty little rich kid.

And no I don’t work buddy I barter what the fuck does my name say?

          • Saxon Edmonds

Exactly Samuel, just look at plastic straws, they sell these so called “straws” to make money, but where does the straw go? Do people really buy the straws? Yeah about 20% of the “manufactered straws” make it into circulation, the rest are bought and resold by the same company. At .001c a straw, and 80% of manufactered straws being somewhere in the trillions, they make within the region of 10 million dollars for each resale of a batch of plastic straws. And who’s making that money except for the corporation? They aren’t paying tax, in fact after the brussels convention of 1976, the government actually pays THEM money. This is all bad enough without looking into the fact of who owns these companies. You could probably guess, I won’t say who because I don’t want to be watched, but their name starts with R and they’re lizard people in disguise.

          • Tdubya

You think government really controls the tech? Please, the government doesn’t design or manufacture much of anything. Everything is contacted out to private companies. As for computers, their will only be a market for what is needed. It makes no sense for a company to manufacture a product with so much bandwidth that all it adds to is the price. It’s smart to scale like this, supply and demand. Besides, people are in the business to make money. That’s a good thing

No one but you, Mark, is responsible if you’re hyper sensitive.

          • Mark Mayhem

          • MichaelConnery

Except saying, “You’re gone,” is not a threat when it normally means someone is going to block what you post. The very idea that you consider it a threat because of hyper sensitivity does not magically make it a threat, hence no Discus rules were violated. No one knows who you are, Mark. No one knows if you’re using your real name, or where you live. This is also why no one is taking you seriously.

          • Termagant

Your petulance and refusal to take responsibility for something you started is even more laughable!

          • Mark Mayhem

LOL!!! The fact that the source they cite in the article says this is “fake news” is likely why mainstream media isn’t going to report it.

      • DeeBar

I’m a retired commercial fisherman (Alaska) and I will not eat fish caught on the west coast . You cannot pump this poison into the Pacific and believe this isn’t going to effect the fish . And how many years has this been going on ? Six years and how many billions of gallons of the nastiest crap on earth ?

        • Pam

Again, check the article’s source material. You may find that you are buying into click-bait propaganda that not even overly dramatic activist’s are willing to support.

          • Mggie

Do you mean to tell us that the radiation’s Not pouring into the Pacific & it’s Not affecting the wildlife in the Pacific? There’s no way you can say this isn’t so. smh

          • Pam

No. I am telling you to look at their source, which is actually directly contradicting the content in the article. Don’t be a blind sheep that begins bleating everything a “news outlet” will report without actually checking the “facts” they are providing. SMH.

          • Patrick J. Herbert

Question the “facts” also. Question everything.

          • Pam

The “facts” presented in the article were questioned. The individual and website they cite as a source says the content in these articles are from old interviews and many things ascribed to individuals were simply not said.

          • Pam

No, this makes it false (their source link)…

            “FAKE NEWS ALERT – http://Yournewswire.com/

            Dear Sean Adl-Tabatabai,

I am writing to request that you immediately remove the article posted on your website’s homepage on Aug. 5, 2017 titled ‘Fukushima Officials: Humans Should Never Eat Fish Again.’

I believe you have re-reported false claims attributed to me that were originally made in a recent article at Disclose.TV titled ‘FUKUSHIMA RADIATION: DAYS OF EATING PACIFIC OCEAN FISH ARE OVER, OR WORSE.’ I have compelled Disclose.TV to remove all quotes and claims in that article with my name.

You (Sean) have fabricated these additional claims attributed to me:
            * ‘the continual leaking of nuclear waste into the ocean is being covered-up by officials and is getting worse each day.’
*TEPCO ‘has data that shows radiation pouring into the Pacific Ocean non-stop for the past six years.’

            I never made these remarks!

This article is abuse that harms my reputation as an activist and author. I request an immediate removal of the article and email confirmation.

            Sincerely, Andrew Kishner”

          • lenaz

It may be a fake source but Japan never could fix the radiation spill and their stuff from the tsunami reached our beach…radiation has been pouring and one day the west coast will be evacuated.

          • Pam

Whatever you say Chicken Little. But according to real scientists, and even the activist this article tries using to justify its content with, they say the sky isn’t falling.

          • Cathy Farris

Of course they do. We can’t have panic, now can we?

          • Pam

So your scientific, peer-reviewed evidence that support your claims that the west coast will have to be evacuated is where? Oh right, it has been held from the public to stop “panic.” That has to be the ticket, because we never see alarmist scientists looking to make a name for themselves… ever. SMH.

          • Jan Casebolt

Pam, please define a “real” scientist? Science is by nature built on hypotheticals. “Science” is in itself, imperfect and always debunking it’s self with a newer version of “proven” truth. Ask yourself who would lose if the truth that radiation is affecting our ocean was openly reported. There are scientific journal reports showing the radiation plume reaching the west coast of the US. Common sense dictates that if radiation is present in the Pacific Ocean, the fish will contain it as well.

          • Pam

A “real scientist” comes to their conclusions with empirical or measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning which is submitted for peer-review. So what exactly does fish being contaminated with “radiation pouring so much that and one day the west coast will be evacuated?” Again, reading comprehension is critical. Not once have you read where I said that the fish were not being affected. I am simply stating this article is BS and even their source says it. I am pointing out the danger in articles such as this. And now even moreso the danger in the bleating of sheep who are running with the BS and adding to it, such as coastal evacuations, “pouring of radiation” in current tense, etc.

          • John Kersting

You are kidding, the flawed article dismisses the seriousness of chemical, nuclear and other toxins showing up in mothers milk and kids bloodstreams every day? Whose bs is worse? Yours. The danger is that you will help dismiss and not reply with evidence that should concern us. Let’s see your peer reviewed published evidence we are not in danger from radio-nucleotide loads in our air, water and food. “The Fourth Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals has measured 212 chemicals in people’s blood or urine—75 of which have never before been measured in the U.S. population.

            Are you in here?
            https://www.cdc.gov/exposurereport/biomonitoring_articles.html

Oh, here is what the report whitewashes, I mean reports……”For many environmental chemicals, however, threshold levels are not known. More research is needed to assess health risks associated with the blood or urine levels of various chemicals documented in the Fourth Report and Updated Tables.” THAT’S REASSURING FOR SURE!!

“What are the common sources of environmental exposure to the chemicals listed in the Fourth Report and Updated Tables?”

“For most chemicals, people are exposed to low levels in foods they eat, water they drink, and the air they breathe. People can also be exposed to chemicals from products and containers they use.” THAT’S REASSURING TOO!!

DO YOU WORK FOR TEPCO DOW OR MONSANTO?

          • Pam

I am not even going to bother to much with this drivel. I mean you have to realize that the only links you presented provide peer-reviewed proof that actually refute your claims. Any kind of nuclear accident should concern us, I didn’t know that would need “evidence” as you seem to believe I should supply. How about you supply evidence that supports your assertions? And BTW, your ranting is not evidence. My point is that the conspiracy theory, nutcase ranting, and over sensationalism coming from people like you and this website are doing far more to damage when it comes to getting people to care.

Ands, no I don’t work for any of those companies. But I do work, which is more than I am willing to bet you can say.

          • TheDude

It’s probably worth noting that “real” scientists are far from objective, often have blatant conflicts of interests, financial interests, and if they work for corporations or the government would never reveal something as shocking as what these headlines say, regardless of whether it’s true or not. We can’t trust “scientists” historically about radiation and nuclear energy safety. We can’t trust them about GMO’s. Regardless of this article it is a fact that Fukushima has been dumping massive amounts of toxic water into the Pacific since the beginning, it’s never going to stop, and that this is both spreading and exposing sea life. That’s a fact. Whether it’s now or in 5 or 10 years, eventually this headline will be true.

          • Pam

I would suggest reading up (or better yet taking a course) on what radioactivity is and how it works. It just isn’t scientists saying that this headline is fake news. They tried quoting an anti-nuclear activist who demanded that his name be removed from statements he didn’t make. And he refuted the claims in the article all together. His agenda would have been more about selling his book and exposing leaks than it ever would be to cover it up. Unless there is another major catastrophe that no one could prepare for, then in five or ten years this headline will be just as much of a joke as it is now.

          • Mitch Mandell

If the sky is not falling. Please tell me what is the truth, You can dispute this article as fake news but the reality is there was a Tsunami, there was a meltdown, there is radiation spilling into the pacific, the only thing you dispute is that it’s doing damage to the ocean? Pam what are you saying about the spill? Are you saying nuclear waste is safe?

          • Pam

Why are you asking what I am saying when I have said it in the comments over and over? I get from your comment that your reading comprehension is poor, but come on… now you are just being stupid. My contention is not with the danger of the meltdown, but rather the danger such fake news presents. The “reporter” openly cites a source that says the article is fake, full of false information and represents statements that were not made. He relies on his readers being too stupid to even look at the source he links to. And apparently he is right, most of the people commenting didn’t even bother. Instead they shared and went on and on about something that people who will check the source laugh will laugh at and essentially make the whole topic dismissed as “fake news.”

          • Matt

‘real scientists’? and who exactly appoints these so called ‘experts’… many of the mainstream ones are made to peddle an agenda that serves big corporations and the powers that be. Alot of ‘real scientists’ represent the big oil companies trying to say global warming and climate change is not as bad as we think. Fuck me some people are thick! i’m not a conspiracy theorist but i certainly don’t believe everything in the mainstream media and i am intelligent enough to see the wood through the trees in terms of whats happening in the world. irrespective of the source of the article (which is badically the point you are trying to make) if anyone on here is trying to say the pacific ocean and the marine life is not affected by that amount of constant contamination for 6 years needs their fucking head examining!

          • Pam

First you say that you are not a “conspiracy theorist” but first you explain a theory were scientists/experts are conspiring with oil companies to lie to the general public. And you are sure experts are always lying but you are “intelligent enough” to know better than them? You want to talk about thick? Again, reading comprehension and bothering to read the thread prior to commenting is key. No one is talking about marine life being affected by radiation when referencing “real scientists.” Lenaz stated that the entire west coast was going to need to be evacuated. That is absurd and has absolutely no actual scientific support to the claim at all.

          • Matt

No i’m not a conspiracy theorist… its just a fact that the big oil companies fund an agenda to downplay climate change and supress alternative forms of energy which, incidentally are more than possible in this day and age if greed was’nt the major driving factor. Do you think that governments tell you the truth about everything and that they are not so deeply entwined with the big corporations they basically serve them and NOT the people. Reading comprehension??? who do you think you are lol. As if you’re on some higher intellectual plain. I can read and understand perfectly well and I understand the point of the thread. What pisses me off is people like you discounting others on here as nutjobs and conspiracy theorists because they don’t choose to believe everything in the mainstream media. who are you to denounce anyone else? you choose to believe everything thats fed to you

          • Mark Mayhem

You are peddling conspiracy theories that makes you a conspiracy theorist. There is no wonder she is saying that you all have reading comprehension problems. What I love is that you criticize her for doing something that you turn and do to her. You are a hypocrite and a nutjob at best.

          • Matt

I’m not peddling anything buddy… I just read a great deal and keep an open mind about things. I don’t think theres a huge conspiracy in everything, just that governments lie to people all the time and big corporations basically own the mainstream media so they have alot of influence over what information we are fed. If believing that makes me a conspiracy theorist then i gurss i best go stick my tin foil hat on and go looking for aliens. I guess some people are awake and some are still mindlessly going through life oblivious to how things actually are. peace

          • Timo Thom

According to modern reports, N. Korea has been testing nuclear weapons, which have been landing in the Pacific Ocean. According to history, Hiroshima is still uninhabitable. Also according to history and “scientists” Chernobyl no longer has animal life due to radioactivity. It stands to reason that if Nukes are landing in the ocean, there are definitely traces of radioactivity (high levels) which definitely will affect marine life. It doesn’t require higher education to arrive at this conclusion. But…please by all means, believe what you want. I’m sure you’re exempt from radiation poisoning.

          • Pam

Ah, so where exactly did I say that radiation wasn’t a problem? In fact in the comments I argue how the nuclear testing has done a great deal of damage to the ocean without this incident. My argument is that 1) “news articles” that are overly fake damage the position that there is a problem rather than support it 2) we are nowhere near the scenario that the article tries to report (never eating fish again) and 3) there is no immediate threat of the East Coast being evacuated because of radiation in the Pacific. Next time try following along.

However, I am curious, where exactly are you getting that there are “high levels” of radiation (other than your reasoning) when actual measurements show that the radiation are at “safe levels” with only “small traces” in the ocean water? When we are hearing about “unimaginable” and “excessively high levels of radiation” they are referring to onsite “elephant’s foot” measurements in what is considered a “contained area,” in that the only radiation or contaminates leaving the site are those that are considered acceptable.

The water testing is done daily and is reported by international mandate by numerous governments and agencies. Let’s look at facts. The last report available from the US’ EPA to the public was done in March. The reports show only one major radionuclide is leaving the plant and it is the third isotope in hydrogen, tritium. And that is released into water at every nuclear plant in the world to some degree. The report states that between tritium levels were at 780 and 820 Bq per liter of water exiting the plant. Let’s put that into perspective, the US EPA limits tritium in bottled drinking water to 740 Bq per liter. So you may want to avoid drinking the water coming directly from the base of the drain from the plant, but you also need to consider what the salt and other minerals in the ocean do with the tritium and its associated radioactivity. That doesn’t mean it isn’t an area to have concern, but it is not the end of the world that some want to make it out to be.

          • Pam

I apologize, I stated the last published report from the EPA was from March, it was February 2017 instead. The report from March was from Canada’s RPA (Radiation Protection Bureau) and it showed an even lower level of tritium contamination.

          • TheDude

I was under the impression that the EPA significantly revised their “safety levels” upward after Fukushima…

          • Pam

You would be under an incorrect impression then. Those standards have been in place for decades. The Canadian Health Advisory Board on Radioactivity changed their standards, but it has nothing to do with Fukushima.

          • Jim Porter

            that is some funny shit…

          • Hooch

Japan has given up building endless storage containers, now their answer is to just dump it in and let the ocean dilute it.

          • Pam

BTW, you do know that the “spill” is contained and has been for years, right?

          • Mark Mayhem

Shhh. Don’t tell her. Let her continue to make herself look stupid.

          • John Kersting
          • Pam

Who the hell do you think you are (besides a fear-mongering nutcase that needs a dictionary and was reported and blocked)? The radiation levels and contaminated water have been contained by even the US’ EPA and NRC standards since the tritium that is being released is within allowable limits and done regularly with other nuclear plants.

          • JD Edwards

Keep eating it then and see where you end up! Nuff said.

          • Pam

Such intellectual prowess. Who said I ate fish at all? When did I say the fish was safe to eat? I know, it must be hard for you to wrap your brain around the idea that someone is opposed to blatantly fake news and libelous reporting that openly insults their readers by citing a source that says the article itself is not accurate. It must be even harder to understand that using fake news and strawman arguments does not support your position, it weakens it. This article does nothing to bring attention to real issues, such as poisoning our oceans, instead it makes the subject matter easier to ignore.

          • Hooch

Isn’t it amazing that so called intelligent individuals are so lacking in good old common sense?

          • Pam

And the people who claim to have so much “good old common sense” lack reading comprehension.

          • Jan Casebolt

            Yes. It is.

          • rhqjr

It might be click bait and intended to be false news but if you continually pour radioactive material into the ocean even diluted there are going to be many species effected and contaminated by radiation. Fish move around I not taking a chance on eating a fish and waking up glowing in the dark. ha but they have hit on a worrisome subject.

          • Pam

I completely concur with your assessment. The problem with an article like this (and other click-bait, fake news stories) is that they desensitize us to the real issues and keep people misinformed enough that those wanting to express legitimate concerns come off to others as conspiracy nuts. My issue is not with protecting the oceans, fish, people, etc. My issue is with garbage articles like this that end up ‘turning people off’ from an important subject. These kinds of articles are the why we have stories of “Chicken Little” and “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.”

          • RevampGamingDist

Why not just block the idiots? That way you aren’t bothered with them taking up your feed space. They are to busy trying to sell the lie that they can’t understand the truth in what you are actually saying.

          • Pam

To be honest, I have already done so. The “uncommon sense” mentioned by a few folks in here do not understand that it is “uncommon” because it is foolish. When the problem is banging on our door and people use articles like this one to justify turning a blind eye, then they will see they were a part of the problem and not a part of the solution.

          • Hooch

One article does not a conclusion make, research, case studies and the bewilderment of the scientific community over the issue does.

          • Pam

You’re trying to argue whether fish are poisoned, I am arguing that the article is poisoning the ability to find a solution.

          • Mark Mayhem

Not so easy to get through to the crazies that infest this site is it? They are so blind by their own crap that they can’t see you are more on their side than the article is.

          • Boris Falovic

Hats off to Pam. There is no getting past her argument folks. We need intelligent people to convey simple logic.

          • Mitch Mandell

Pam what’s that growth on your arm? Time to eat more fish!

          • Pam

What happened to your brain cells? You don’t seem to even have just two to bump together to make an intelligent comment. Maybe you should eat some fish.

          • Jan Casebolt

If only the “real” (ie: mainstream stories) got Pam’s scrutiny, the truth about Fukushima (and many other things) would be easier to find and to source. In my humble opinion. No disrespect to Pam personally. But where are all the “questioning” folks when CNN keeps us in fight or flight mode? Or NBC shows clearly opinionated stories, vs. straight journalism?

          • Pam

Full of assumptions, aren’t you? What makes you think I don’t question mainstream stories? The whole point of what I have posted is not about the contamination, but rather the danger in fake news such as this. It creates a “run and gun” mentality where opinions or assumptions become fact instead of doing actual fact checking. This kind of BS article and the over-sensationalized comments are the very thing that have desensitized people to real problems that need our attention; like addressing the contamination with facts and honesty instead of click-counts.

          • Ander Alegría

I love you Pam 🙂 I read you and it’s like reading myself, you’re like my twin soul .D

          • Mark Mayhem

Do you really think saying no disrespect to about someone takes away the disrespect? You are talking negatively about someone to someone else. That is the definition of personally disrespecting someone.

          • Mark Mayhem

And this one article and it’s bold faced lying has the ability to negate all of the research, case studies and the bewilderment of the scientific community with a large portion of people who see it as a lie once and denounce anything similar afterward.

        • Hooch

Your right on target but is there any way to get through to those deniers? Realistically I don’t think so up until their bodies start to rot from the inside out, then they’ll sit up and pay attention.

        • Jan Casebolt

Thank you, DeeBar. “Unconmmon” sense tells us all that fish who eat, live and breathe in the Pacific Ocean will be contaminated. Denile is not a river in Egypt. And it won’t keep us healthy for sure.

          • Mark Mayhem

What a poor attempt at being clever. BTW, no personal disrespect.

        • Wussa Mino

Imagine what’s in the air after eating a burger 🙁

      • Ron Wheeler

YourFakeNewswire often does this to pump up readership and site statistics. If there are no sources, I pass it on, if there is a source, I check the source out.

      • Treebeard

I would venture to say that the term ‘fake news’ was invented to cover up the truth. We are dealing with some uncomfortable truths here: Fukushima is an ongoing disaster and it is leaking large amount of radioactive water into the Pacific. That radiation has to go somewhere so it’s gone into the sea life and possibly you. OK, the Pacific Ocean is a huge area so, although millions of tonnes (maybe billions by now) of radioactive water have leaked into it, it will still take some time before it starts to show up. Ignoring a patently obvious problem of toxic pollution on such an unimaginable scale doesn’t make it go away nor does calling it ‘fake news’. There are people out there who truly do not give a shit about other people if the health of those ‘other people’ gets between them and profit and there are also those who really have no idea about how to contain such serious contamination and governments who do not wish to alarm the populace – because an angry population would be another problem to have to deal with so best to keep them in the dark. Nothing conspiratorial about all this apart from the conspiracy of silence. This is how much of the world’s governments deal with situations they are just not prepared for.

        • Pam

In this case “fake news” means that this website used incorrect information and falsely reported that Andrew Kishner made particular statements. They cited his website with a link, and lo and behold from that link, Andrew Kishner called out this very website and this very author for claiming he said things he did not and misrepresenting facts; even demanding that his name and website be removed from the article. Since, the source link has been removed and Andrew Kishner’s name has been replaced with “one scientist.”

So where are you getting your reports that there is radiation coming from Fukushima on an “unimaginable scale?” Or is that just an assumption that you have? Testing right outside of Fukushima spillway is done several times a day, by a litany of governments and organizations. All of them are showing the only traceable radionuclide is tritium and is only slightly above the EPA’s (which maintain the most rigid standards) level of safe bottled drink water. And those measurements are taken before there has been a real chance to for the salines and bases in the ocean water have a chance to absorb it (tritium is an isotope of hydrogen, and why every nuclear plant is allowed to release some of it daily).

The reason we are going to find radiation everywhere is because, surprise, we live on a radioactive planet and actually have radioactive bodies. “Radiation” is often used as a trigger word by media and conspiracy theorists for sensationalism and fear mongering because it instantly brings thoughts of mutations, death, etc to most people because of it’s use in science fiction, and it’s destructive potential when used unscrupulously. The problem is the horrible scenarios that pop into people’s heads is all too often the exact opposite of reality.

When you start talking about governments and agencies lying to keep you in the dark and to harm you; you are propagating a conspiracy theory by its very definition. The problem with this is that it is just not governments doing testing. Activist groups and watchdogs are doing testing too and they are reporting the same thing as the government agencies. With all of these groups doing testing, if the situation is so dire, where are all of the results that prove it? Why are websites blatantly writing reports where their sources say they are full of BS?

And do you really think that the media or government wants you in the dark? Governments have done anything but remain silent to justify sending aide and resources. There is no desire to stop mass hysteria at all. In fact the media and government have been using it to move their agendas, increase click counts, sell books and “protective goods” for some time now. What good is a populace that sees no need to buy products or support government funding to keep the “evils” at bay? I imagine they would love to report legitimate problems, but their data is subject to review by other experts who are also doing testing. If they fudged the numbers the very same people crying “The sky is falling” would be screaming that the government was deceiving us to increase spending.

      “FAKE NEWS ALERT – http://Yournewswire.com/

      Dear Sean Adl-Tabatabai,

You (Sean) have fabricated these additional claims attributed to me:
      * ‘the continual leaking of nuclear waste into the ocean is being covered-up by officials and is getting worse each day.’
*TEPCO ‘has data that shows radiation pouring into the Pacific Ocean non-stop for the past six years.’

      I never made these remarks!

I only buy fish that is sourced from any other than the Pacific or Indian Oceans. Cod from the Bering is probably OK since the current of the Bering pushes down into the Pacific. I feel comfortable eating that. Also, Aldi’s grocery stores sells vacuumed packaged Haddock from the North Atlantic. Read the labels to check for sourcing when buying. No Star-Kist or other commercially fished canned tuna for me unless I know that it is NOT from the west coast. If there is no sourcing on the label, I will not buy…

In that article, the Disclose.TV author exploited an existing online article that I was interviewed for (in 2013) and updated it, pretending I made those statements in 2017, which I did not. Mr. Newton went a step further and fabricated more stuff that I never said, such as my supposed claim that ‘the magnitude of the radiation being leaked into the ocean is being “down played” [sic]. I never made that remark.

Mr. Newton’s article –“Fukushima Scientists: Days Of Eating Fish From The Ocean Are OVER – Scientist say there is no ‘safe level ‘radiation'” — is abuse that harms my reputation as an activist and author. I request an immediate removal of the article and email confirmation.

Nonsense. The Good Lord gave us abundance so that we would never need forgo new and as yet undiscovered taste sensations. Besides, the truly tasty stuff is caught with a net; Its not as if we are barbarians. Personally, I would never go fishing. I am not fond of the sun, and prefer tasty fish cooked up proper by someone who knows what they are doing, maybe with some cocktails before. Oh, who am I kidding about that “maybe”. Regardless, something yummy from the sea appears on the table by the good Grace of God. I know, because I always clasp my hands, close my eyes and thank him for the scrumptious sea creature I am about to chow down upon. My hands are unsullied and free of sin!

You who STILL eats MUDREDED Animals, MURDERED by someone else so that you can eat them !

When we are supposed to Follow JESUS. JESUS would NEVER EVER be “a meat eater” TODAY.
When it is just So SELFISH and So Primate i. e. to MUDER and eat Animals in the year 2017.
When it is 100% UNNESSISARY to do it TODAY i. e. to MUDER and eat Animals in the year 2017.
When it is so Terribly Terribly CRUEL i. e. to MUDER and eat Animals in the year 2017.
When it is causing the STARVATION of CHILDREN – MILLIONS of CHILDREN.
When it is DESTROYING our-one-and-only Planet Earth.
When it is BAD for your HEALTH; for the HEALTH of your very-own-CHILDREN you feed dead (MURDERED) Animals to.
When you are supposed to have EVOLVED beyond being a MURDEROUS CRUEL un-CARING; SELFISH; BLASPHEMOUS Buffoon; which is EXACTLY what You are

Where did i say i eat animals. I just found you ranting on about some religious rot. Wake up mate.

          • BFlatlander

Well you are missing out. There is nothing quite like eating one of the many creatures and things that spring forth from the earth. God scattered them about for us to find and chow down on. See that monkey up in the tree? I would so eat it if I could catch it. I would not be able to resist, and why should I? Back when I was in college, my room mates would be horrified when I would bring back the harvest from the highway up the street. Fresh roadkill on the hibachi. I kid you not. Yum yum. You have no idea how tasty badger is until you try it. I’m pretty sure it was badger, anyway. This austere joykill, Michael, has it all wrong. Don’t listen to that claptrap. It would turn me off the Lord too if I were constantly hungry from living off nuts and twigs. Don’t get me wrong, HE wants you to eat those things too. Like a garnish thats actually nice to eat, but thats not why you are in that steakhouse. I like it when they put a slice of orange on the plate, and will ask if you are planning to eat the pickle. We can thank God for the Bloomin’ Onion too, but my digestive system is not so thankful the next day. Better to focus on that NY Strip steak and a baked potato. Tell them to give you a little bowl of bacon bits on the side, that way they don’t chintz out on your enjoyment of that potato that God made for you.

Nonsense. You have it all wrong. Look at Jesus on that horse. He’s using that horse, as is the other Jesus on the little brown pony with the sword. The Zombie Jesus on the tan horse is holding a triton for God’s sake. Quite literally for God’s sake. A message telling us to have the cocktail sauce ready, ’cause HE is taking us fishing. The Catholics understand this (despite the fact that they are papists and will roast for it), and I will admit to hitting up the flounder fry each Friday in August at St. Alphonso’s. You know, when you think about it, Man was not made to live with nature. He was made to conquer it and eat it. Our heathen cousins of the East are sitting on a gold mine of scrumptiousness, and it is my sincere prayer that Our Lord lead our amazing new President to pry open the pantry of North Korea with our nuclear arsenal so that Americans can finally taste what is keeping that chubby cheeked despot so fat and sassy.

No, unfortunately our grandchildren will probably not be eating seafood of any kind, because the oceans are being so thoroughly overfished (radiation notwithstanding) that there will quite simply be no more commercially viable fish in the oceans in 40 or 50 years. Plus rising temperatures and acidification and massive eutrophication zones making it much more difficult for many important species to reproduce or grow to maturity. It’s a fucking disaster, and we are about as willing to stop it as bacteria in a petri dish eating all the substrate.

If this is true, then they are also selling us toxic vacations in every Pacific holiday location because we might as well not swim in the ocean or eat shrimp, fish, crab or other ocean foods. I’m not really ready for that.

    • https://www.stakeminers.com StakeMiners

Yea so from this I gather Andrew Kishner is no better than anyone else who has dollar signs in thier eyes. Meaning, it is possible he was paid by the industry leaders to redact his study, and simply play it down. If what he wrote in that letter were true and it really was “abuse that harms my reputation as an activist and author” then prove it, show us the police report and court case where he won the defamation case against Daniel Newton. Because what Andrew Kishner has claimed in that letter of his is a clear cut and dry case of defamation. I think Andrew Kishner was paid to shut up because he was getting to close to the truth. It is sad because the only real way to know the truth is to test the fish ourselves with equipment no one ordinary would have access to.

Bottom line is you want to live and be healthy grow ALL of your own food and medicines, becasue the shit we buy at the store is all contaminated.

      • Ethyl Ruehman

This would be a human rights violation wtf. You think other countries could be okay with this?

I can’t wait for you and your kind to die as you welcome back whatever modern science and medicine is currently protecting you and those like you from. I really can’t wait.

        • https://www.stakeminers.com StakeMiners

Yep and comments like “I can’t wait for you and your kind to die” tell us all we need to know about the kind of person you are. Like I said just provide the court ruling on the defamation case, if you/he cant provide this then what are we expected to believe? No one goes into that much detail about how defamatory an article was, and if it indeed jeopardized his living and his reputation and the comments were in fact not true then there would be a case against the author. He clearly has the money to do this so talk is cheap, and actions speak louder than words.

          • Skyé Anderson

Well, I really can’t wait for you lot of poprocks-for-brains die OF THINGS YOU DO TO YOURSELVES. Don’t forget the last part. It’s important.

“from this I gather Andrew Kishner is no better than anyone else who has dollar signs in thier eyes.” Because you’re a lunatic.
“I think Andrew Kishner was paid to shut up because he was getting to close to the truth.” Because you’re a lunatic.

“grow ALL of your own food and medicines, because the shit we buy at the store is all contaminated.”
This is why I can’t wait for you and your kind to die from things those ‘contaminated’ medicines protect you from. And the REASON I can’t wait is because then those who aren’t capable of discerning bullshit from brains will finally stop being influenced into life-threatening mistakes by your brand of suicide-by-idiocy.

          • Skyé Anderson

SO… I suppose in summary the kind of person I am is one who is intolerant of people so irredeemably stupid they can’t ever understand how stupid they are. • Michael Harris

        Many Bible following people often make excuses for being non-vegetarian by saying the Bible does not actually forbid them from eating meat. What they overlook is how different things were nearly 2000 years ago when the last of the Bible was written and now and that consequently meat eating in the present day world is not compatible with Christian living;
        1. 2000 years ago there was no factory farming, animals were kept in small flocks and quite reasonably treated.
        2. 2000 years ago you did not have a world population of farm animals so big that it was wrecking the environment, as are the 20bn farm animals of today. Christians have a duty not to unnecessarily damage Gods creation.
        3. 2000 years ago crops were not being grown in places where people were going hungry because locally grown crops were being used to feed farm animals to meet the desires of rich people. Christians have a duty not to cause hunger in others just to satisfy their own taste preferences.
If they still hide behind the excuse that Bible does not actually forbid eating meat knowing the above they should consider this-If they know in their hearts that something is wrong and they continue to do it, Jesus says in Matthew ch7 v21-23 that many will say on the day of judgement did we not do XY and Z in your name………. I will reply to them “I never knew you, depart from me, you workers of iniquity.”

JESUS : ” TODAY I would NEVER EVER be “a meat eater” “.

This is laughable. The USA has detonated at least 1054 high grade nuclear weapons in the Pacific and continental USA since 1945. Those weapons, in many cases, carried 1000’s of times more radiation than Fukushima. http://nuclearweaponarchive.org/Usa/Tests/

    • Mark Mayhem

Careful. You are making way too much sense for some of these people to handle.

    • mydnytmover

Yeah and everyone that was alive during this time has radiation in their bodies from these test.

      • Mark Mayhem

Actually studies show that we are all full of radiation. We live on a radioactive planet and are made up of radioactive substances like potassium. Seriously tho, people being born today are still getting radiation from the tests that were performed.

  • Darcy James

“Worryingly, new studies reveal that fish caught off the West coast of the United States and in Canada are also being tested positive for radiation poisoning.”

  • Guy Burger

It’s not even well written with its short uninformative sentances, two of which, start with according to. If you are going to say according to scientists and want people to take you seriously then you’d better at least say which scientists and when the study was done, also, it is impportant to give links to peer reviewed papers in such cases. Whatever the truth of the issue articles like this do nobody any favours.

    FAKE NEWS ALERT – http://Yournewswire.com/

    Sincerely, Andrew Kishner

  • Prismonic

Why not just eat fish if you want to and if you die, you were going to anyway; now you’ll die happy and full.

  • James Fenton III

It is interesting that the named source in the article demanded the article be removed, and he denies making such statements.
No doubt TEPCO mismanaged it’s reactor, failing to protect emergency equipment by installing cooling pumps where they would be submerged during a tsunami.
I don’t believe in “Accidents”, this was purely a pre disposed outcome. It was not neglect, it was designed to fail.
Any child over 5 could have done a better job at protecting this reactor.
Why we don’t use molten salt and thorium, as it is inherently safe, and will self regulate if anything goes wrong, I will never know.

    • Burnt Offering

Earlier he also had posted that he wanted disclose.tv to remove things he did not say and to stop treating the old material as though it was relevant in 2017.

      • James Fenton III

The article is faked, but it’s a form of distraction. Easy to discredit articles are one thing, but there is a huge problem with the Pacific Ocean, and it is caused by Tepco and their reactor.
In the end the Japanese Government, who issued the permits, and Tepco are the “Responsible party’s.

        • Pam

Yep, it has to be the Japanese Government and Tepco who are the “responsible party” for all of the radiation in the Pacific Ocean. Bikini Atoll, The Pacific Proving Grounds, and all of the other test sites used by diffrent nations had nothing to do with it.

          • James Fenton III

That’s funny, a sense of scale might help, but I have my doubts considering your remark.
A meltdown produces more long lived and different isotopes than a nuclear device.
But you wouldn’t know that unless a said something.

          • Pam

You do realize you are comparing the combined environmental damage of over a thousand nuclear tests in the air, on the water’s surface and underwater which maintained no protective environmental safeguards or cleanup procedures to one meltdown that did (strontium and tritium are not pouring out of Fukushima)? Cleanup of just the US Pacific Ocean testing sites didn’t start until 1977, over thirty years after the testing and the sites were still dangerously contaminated. But since you know everything (except where “I” and “a” are properly used) do you have evidence that Fukushima was far worse for the environment than all of the nuclear testing done over, by and in the Pacific, I’d love to see it.

          • Mark Mayhem

You are going to make Jimmy hurt himself trying to figure out a way to make himself right.

          • James Fenton III

The lions share of tests has been on land, of about 2050 tests have taken place, and just a handfull were in the Ocean.
Plus the radioisotopes are converted to energy rather than just being released.
After 6 years of release, it dwarfs the entire testing program, and it’s left over contamination.
You are ignorant of the difference in a meltdown and the bomb.

          • RevampGamingDist

You sir, are absolutely stupid. The lionshare of the bombs tested by the US in the Pacific were on land and within 1/4 a mile from water. That means the fallout is mostly over ocean. The US reports there were more than 300 tests done in the Pacific seabed alone and blasting radioactive material miles into the sea floor. Hardly a handful. Your understanding of isotopes and radiation transfer are more than lacking. Mark is right you are going to hurt yourself.

          • James Fenton III

Okay, that leaves 1750 tests on land, and 300 in the sea, compared to a 6 year leak from a meltdown.
You may be stupid, but nobody can fix that, not even you.
Ron White says “You cannot fix stupid, stupid is forever”
I shall leave you to your fate.

          • Mark Mayhem

You could almost be taken seriously until you mentioned Ron White. Seriously dude, you realize that there have been containment measures for some time and even activists are saying that the radiation and contaminants aren’t at the levels to be concerned about.

          • James Fenton III

Mark, if you believe there is no problem, eat the fish, feed it to your kids, feed it to your wife while pregnant.
            No problem.
After all, it’s not like Governments and Corporations ever lie.

          • Mark Mayhem

            Whatever you say nutjob.

          • RevampGamingDist

You are certainly evidence that stupid can not be fixed. I’ll leave you to your conspiracies and ignorance.

        • Burnt Offering

Indeed easily discredited articles are one thing but what about the plethora of government and independent studies that are saying the situation is not that dire. Surely if there was a landslide of reputable agencies reporting such toxicity, new sites such as this one would not have to resort to writing articles where the evidence is “one scientist said.”

  • Pam

No need for an apology, you were completely respectful. But thank you for graciously offering one.

  • Tam

They won’t tell the truth too many people will freak out. And for those of who think this is fake news or conspiracy theorie I have news for U that U should look up the Goegia Guide stones they are real and the way they were erected is quit an eye opener. Stock up on Ur idodine and protect Ur health. Also why is main stream saying that cancer is about to jump in the next five years if they didn’t know???? Think about?

    • Mark Mayhem

Wow you have it all figured out. Shouldn’t you be on the phone with George Noory or Art Bell?

  • GnomeCoach

This is just another addition to the fear-mongering sensational articles that are being widely circulated on the internet by people who have little understanding of nuclear technology. It is designed to appeal to conspiracy theorist and others who are seeking excuses from the effects of of Anthropogenic Climate Disruption (ACD). The people, who spread this crap rarely check the accuracy of such articles before sharing it. This article comes from an unreliable news site that hosts it. All one needs to do is check on the other stories they host. They say they are unfiltered which means that they don’t check whether the authors have composed and submitted fake news to them. Those, sharing such stories are actually doing more damage to their cause than good since the opposition can easily show these stories are filled with severe distortions and that the activists don’t know what they are talking about.

First of all they never name the so called scientist official, or give a clue who they may be associated with. The author didn’t mention what contaminated water he was referring to. There is no such thing as saturation of fish by radiation. Anyone with a bit of technical training in this field would now that. The closure of any fish industries may be the result of market fears, not radiation levels detected in the fish. The radiation levels, detected in tuna on the west coast of North America, are orders of magnitude below what would be expected to result in the fish harm, or harm to the consumers. Most of these fear-mongering articles deliberately exclude that fact. There was no test results indicating that the fish had radiation poisoning which isn’t even a term used in this analytical field.

Such articles are similar to hoax articles and many such Fukushima Dai-Ichi smear articles are posted on the Snopes.com site.

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.” Upton Sinclair. I live in Ensenada, Mexico, along the Pacific, 100 miles South of San Diego. After I shared this article on my local community board last night, the following comment was contributed from
Morgaan Sinclair (look her up on Facebook, but presumably no relation to the author of the previous quote): “One of my closest friends
is the man at the DOE who monitors every radiating particle in the
contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii and all possessions. He BEGGED
the Japanese to vent Daichi-3, -4, and
-6 before they melted down. TEPCO refused because an atmospheric venting
would prove they had a radiation problem and expose them for
contaminating the atmosphere. They melted down. Then their only hope was
to leach out radiation into the sea to prevent a spread of radiation on
land. So they do. They pour the contents of the containment pools into
the richest fishery off Japan. And they lie about it. And when the fish
come in contaminated, they lie to the fishermen, divert the exports to
third world countries, and tell the U.N. and America everything is fine.
One year ago, the Japanese government, which had thoroughly colluded
with TEPCO at the time, put the directors of TEPCO on trial for fraud
and the government’s case prevailed. The incredible hubris of TEPCO to
place — count ’em — FOUR nuclear power plants in an area destroyed by
quake and tsunami four times since 1650 — represents a triumph of greed
over public safety almost unparalled in history. The fact that a few
TEPCO bosses are in jail in no way exonerates the Japanese government
for its corrupt backing of TEPCO against IAEA standards in its placement
of the nuclear facilities in an acknowledged tsunami zone, its lying to
workers at DAICHI-6 in telling them they were safe in exploring a
meldown (they’re ALL dead), and the cover-up involving the dumping of
911,000,000,000 (911 trillion) gallons of CESIUM-137 contaminated waters
into a Pacific ocean current which would dump radiation on the shores
of three continents and 965 islands and poison 758 triillion fish. … I
watched the four wave surges from this tsunami come to shore from the
ridge about the spit in Punta Banda. I recorded them for the Harvard
University Center for the Environment, which archived my films. The
tidal waves came from 9,322 kilometers away. … I knew then we were in
deep trouble, because the currents that brought the waves would bring
the radiation. … I asked my friend at the Department of Energy what it
all meant. He said, “Every person in Japan, even those born on this
day, will be dealing with a nuclear meltdown for the rest of their
lives. The impact of this tragedy will not wane for 5,000 years.
Eventually, this tragedy will kill more than half of the world’s ocean
life. And it poison all the rest. In five or 10 years this will be
apparent.” … And then added, “How very strange that the people most
abused by nuclear power should have done this.”

The situation is dire to say the least by my question is: Has anyone cared to fact check this by going at the link of Nuclear Crimes where Kishner himself is calling out Sean Adl-Tabatabai for posting fake news and attributing it to him? Have a look please. Then visit the resources which Kishner has linked to. There is no “safe level” of radiation and those that have been set by whatever “authority” are mere damage control numbers where an increase of X numbers of cancer cases per year are considered “acceptable” >:( So take this site with a massive grain of salt and remember that amny of these sites have been popping everywhere blasting sensationalism in order to gain views that generate hits on their ads on which they monetize! Although there is truth in the undeniable fact that the Fukushima incident polluted the Pacific with sizable amounts of radiation (and let’s not forget the air too!) please do keep your mind open… though always use common sense so that your mind won’t open so much that your brain will fall off ;D

    • Pam

At one point they did cite a source with a link. When you clicked on the link you went to a website where the individual they claimed to quote said that the article was “fake news” and the “reporter” attributed statements to the guy that he never made.

What I have learned about this is the half life of the small traces of the elements in a small portion of fish in scant few findings is long wnough that it poses no risk unless the small amount of radioactive elements remain in a person and damage his or her DNA a half life later and he passes that DNA on. I have learned this is all hype.

  • Moto Masa

REAL SCIENCE: The coastal average concentration of cesium-137 is now at 2.7 Bq per m3 according to data from samples collected in January and February 2017, which are now available. While nearly 300% of the pre-Fukushima levels, our observations remain extremely low when compared to the 10,000 Bq per m3 drinking water limit as set by Health Canada’s Radiation Protection Bureau.

  • leskaufman

Of course picking up even a trace of the radionucleide signature of Fukushima in fish meant for human consumption is sobering and of concern. This is one of a legion of things we need to be concerned about. However, we must have some sense of relative risk in order to make sense of how we should live. In that context, the fact that Trump pulled the US out of the Paris climate accord is an immensely more serious and threatening problem than Fukushima will be to each of us individually, and for our children and grandchildren and all of our heirs. If you are worried about contamination in fish from Fukushima, just don’t eat Pacific fish- probably an excessive measure of caution right now, but a harmless way of avoiding something that is bothering you. However, if you are intent on protecting yourself from Fukushima, and unconcerned about human-caused climate change, then you are irrational and actually a genuine threat to your own well being.

    • Mark Mayhem

The world has been capable of fantastic feats of engineering including islands created in the ocean. It is time to step up to the plate and impound part of the ocean in the vicinity of Fukushima as a containment zone. I would think that a few thousand square feet would be adequate. The millions/billions of gallons of sea water within would be enough to maintain a cooling zone for the destroyed reactors and be a barrier to the further spread of radiation.

Maybe even a source that isn’t just another activist group that have clear and pointed agendas since motive can make them as unreliable as using information from the companies you listed?

      • Kat Jones

You are asking him for something that doesn’t exist.

        • Burnt Offering

I was honestly asking to be objective. If he has legitimate sources that have no motive other than to report accurate information then his points should be taken into consideration. If not they can safely be discarded as ramblings.

  • KBalaz

and yet no actual factual proof? If you can’t show references of said ‘studies’, there is really no point to post stories like these. Anyone can say what ever they want, but if you don’t actually show these reference materials, its all moot

    • Burnt Offering

As some of the others have said, at one time they cited the Nuclear Crimes website and it was removed because the site demanded that they be removed because they article is presenting them saying things they did not and not actually using real findings to support their claims. Their source actually called it fake news.

  • Mark Kelly

If you sealed off the Pacific from the rest of the World Ocean then removed the water to have an empty Basin, it would take about 6 TRILLION years at 300 tons of water per day to refill the Basin to current sea levels. Sensationalism instead of real Science. This new radiation is nothing compared to the typical background radiation of the Planet….

  • Heryanto Chandrawarman

This an example of a bad and misleading article title….not enough evidence to support the conclusion stated in the title…

  • Terry Peter

How ironic,The nation that pillaged the oceans for any fish or animal that swam may have to change their diets. Perhaps the climate change deniers are next. Nature has a way of eliminating the weakest and she works in mysterious ways.

  • Dani Monique-Steel Borden

•Water acts as a diluent. While there may be significant quantities of
radioactive material released into the sea near the Fukushima reactor site,
the massive amount of water in the Pacific Ocean would rapidly dilute and
disperse the materials to negligible levels.

    • Some radioactive isotopes rapidly decay. For example, the half life of
Iodine-131 (I-131) is about eight days. This means that the activity level of
the I-131 isotope drops by half every eight days. Given the length of time
since the event, the short-lived radionuclides would have decayed to near
background levels and therefore pose no health hazard. Although Cesium
isotopes have longer half-lives (Cs-134 has a half-life of about two years,
Cs-137 a longer half-life of about 30 years), the radionuclides also undergo
biological excretion and do not continue to build up in fish forever.

    I wouldn’t trust a “news” site that isn’t secured.

As much I can totally helicopter that this is true the fact that this article cites no actual provable facts or data means I cannot in good judgement believe it. Even though I want to.

  • urnotathinkerareu?

I want to see verifiable scientific studies that confirm these claims. Where are the science reports that go with making claims like this from the scientific institutions?

    • Pam

There aren’t any for you to see. The studies show safe levels of contaminates. That is why the article resorts to “one scientist” and “other scientists who…” At one time they did cite a source, but the source link went to the activist’s website where he said that the “facts” in the article are incorrect and statements being attributed to him were not his words.

This is crap. Relative to the size of the pacific ocean the tainted water from fukushima is nothing. Yes it might cause some localized issues but by the time you are 50 miles out it is so dispersed there will be no effect.

  • Ricky Smith

People like Mark Mayhem are the problem, unfortunately there are lots of them. Nothing personal Mark, have you had your RFID chip yet mate???

    • Mark Mayhem

Funny. I think people like you are the problem. You rely on fake news and follow any nutcase trying to shill a book r a clickbait ad. The source that was cited in the article already called this fake news, so if you want to be taken seriously then the burden of proof is yours. Nope, no chips on me, but I hear they have one on your Mum. You know how those lizard people are. Nothing personal Ricky Smith.

    • Pam

Seriously, just report and block them. When you do that you silence them. Of course they can type all they want but they only look silly typing to themselves. The people who Sean Adl-Tabatabai panders to, only to make fun of them later, are going to believe they know better no matter how much or how diligently the truth is revealed. Let them buy in because it exposes them and makes a lot (not all, some people are interested in sincere discourse) of them look like “crazies” when the casual reader skims through the comments and sees “reason” being used as proof over actual test results; and you are right that the burden of proof is theirs. The more people that look like conspiracy theorists flooding the comments of an obviously fake news article with negativity the more the average person will question anything that is reported that sounds remotely similar… the more they will look for the truth and the more they will demand proof.

      • Mark Mayhem

I know and I enjoy making what you call the crazies come out. Right now the site I work for is following posts and users to aide other conspiracy busters with evidence that such-and-such will buy into anything and look how they act when confronted when they interact with their nutjob scenarios in other groups. Most of them are getting a good laugh out of the responses too. I to have to say that this article and disclose.tv did us a favor since their source called them out on the reports being junk news and lies.

One question? IS IT STILL LEAKING INTO THE OCEAN? YES! THEN FISH ARE GETTING CONTAMINATED!! END OF!!

    • Burnt Offering

End of it? Things are not nearly as simple as you think they are.

  • liveoak

I agree. Think of the fish. Think what we’re doing to the biosphere. “Levels” of radiation from these elements are not going to be “safe” at any point, although I understand the worry that many scientists have about their “reputations” over scary headlines The problem is, scientists need to start addressing this and the many other kinds of abuses we are inflicting on the biosphere honestly and directly–putting together the picture that all these abuses paint, they need to state loudly and clearly that we humans need to REVERSE COURSE if we and a few other lifeforms are gonna survive the present century. Since they don’t, because they’re too busy protecting their “reputations” by continuing to justify the status quo, It’s no wonder that many of the general public have become highly skeptical of “scientists.” I’m getting tired of trying to explain to my neighbors why the people who have studied science and know better are continuing to sell them, and our environment, out.

    • http://stonesnbones.blogspot.com/ Dr. GS Hurd

Because we are not selling anyone out.

We do object to gross frauds promoted to spread fear, and to generate income for fraudsters.

      • liveoak

The thing is, we all ought to fear the the way our techno-industrial society is damaging the biosphere. Fukushima is just one example. Sure, radioactive water pouring into the ocean will be diluted, but when is it going to end? And when will the building of nuclear reactors end? And the constant pressure for more “growth,” which is why there is a push for more nuclear reactors, and more burning of fossil fuels? When are the intelligent people–and I’d like to count most scientists among that number–finally going to put their weight behind changing the societal paradigm? At some point–how bad does it have to get?–not to do so does count as selling out.

  • http://stonesnbones.blogspot.com/ Dr. GS Hurd

Yep, but Japan continues to corral any and all fish within a hundred miles of its shore. They travel to the bottom of our world to kill whales. Now we are supposed to stop harvesting fish that have never been in or near the waters of Japan. I say, just let the Japs glow in the dark.

This is what’s the matter with the world and people in general. If you are stupid enough to believe this shit then you are stupid enough to give me your bank account number so I can drain it. Carry on. Here’s a hint for all you fake news brainwashed idiots, when you go to a ‘newz’ website and you see titles like, ‘Witnesses Report Flying Reptilian Over Chicago ‘ it’s uh, you know, probably fake. When a newz site’s very own logo says something like, ‘News Truth Unfiltered’ um yeah that’s kind of a dead give away.

No credibility to any of this whatsoever. Just a Bullshit story for views and clicks. There are no sources, names or any reference to back up the claims in the “article” or video.

While Fukushima is a disaster with potential to be a global catastrophe, it is no where near what you claim it to be, at least not yet. Instead of spreading “terror” and wasting peoples time, why don’t you focus on spreading critical concern for the real issue, which is the need for this to be dealt with efficiently and responsibly. And more international assistance would be beneficial.

Instead of spending on military and geopolitical domination, The world’s powers should be uniting to solve fixable problems like this one.

If you want real educated info from actual oceanographers regarding Fukushima you can start with this:

This is complete tripe–destructive fear mongering. I live in Japan and we (German TV) have been reporting on this since 3/11. I have been up to the area more than fifty times, and inside 1F twice filming. In addition I am in contact with experts both in Japan and in the US (Ken Busseler of Wood’s Hole). I have accompanied radiation measuring near 1F and at the mouth of the Abukuma river. I have reported on seafood testing in Fukushima. Apart from some of the bottom dwellers near 1F, seafood radiation levels are now consistently below 100 bq/kg. As to the whole Pacific, extensive testing has shown that large pelagics like tuna are showing an increase of 4-6 bq/kg on account of Cs-137 and 134 from Fukushima. This is minor, considering that the US max is 1000 bq/kg.

I’m not saying this is good, and there exists the possibility that things could go south, but at the moment there is absolutely nothing to worry about, especially if you are eating seafood not caught near Fukushima. I am not much in agreement with the nuclear industry, but in this case I agree that the fear generated by such schlock reporting is much more damaging to people than the radiation from the meltdowns.
