Attorney General: Government Should Legalize Marijuana Nationwide

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that if the states want to legalize marijuana then Congress should make it legal at the federal level.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions told Congress that if the states want to keep the possession, sale, and distribution of marijuana legal then Congress should pass a law that makes it legal at the federal level.

The United States Congress has made the possession of marijuana in every state, and distribution of it, an illegal act,” Sen. Sessions testified. “If that’s something is not desired any longer, Congress should pass a law to change the rule.

It’s not so much the Attorney General’s job to decide what laws to enforce. We should do our job and enforce laws as effectively as we are able.”

Upon President Donald Trump’s nomination of Republican Senator Jeff Sessions to be U.S. Attorney General, countless cannabis advocates have felt that the Senator’s past comments in opposition to cannabis use could undo advances in legalization.

But Attorney General Session’s recent comments demonstrate he is the kind of man who is not afraid to change his mind when presented with new and compelling evidence.

ClearChoice reports:

During a speech on the Senate floor in 2016, Sen. Sessions said that President Obama was not aggressive enough on cannabis. He warned that the United States was at the brink of succumbing to “another surge in drug use like we saw in the ’60s and ’70s.”

“You have to have leadership from Washington,” Sen. Sessions said during his 2016 speech. “You can’t have the president of the United States of America talking about marijuana like it is no different than taking a drink. … It is different. And you are sending a message to young people that there is no danger in this process. It is false that marijuana use doesn’t lead people to more drug use. It is already causing a disturbance in the states that have made it legal. I think we need to be careful about this.”

The Republican senator’s comments emphasizing that Congress needs to legalize cannabis to adhere to voters’ wishes comes as the political environment is allowing the cannabis industry to thrive.

Recreational cannabis is now legal in Washington, California, Nevada, Massachusetts, Maine, Alaska, Colorado, and Oregon. Medical marijuana is legal in 29 states and Washington D.C.

Legal cannabis sales in Washington state topped $1 billion in 2016.

According to Marijuana Business Factbook 2016, sales of legal cannabis are set to evolve into a $44 million industry by the end of 2020. Investment bank Cowen found that the cannabis industry is set to grow to $50 billion by 2026.

Trade publication, Marijuana Business Daily, reported that the legal cannabis industry employs about 100,000 to 150,000.

    Marijuana cures diseases ?
But I have no diseases, so how can I get them?

Simple, I start using marijuana so i`ll have a lot of diseases.
Then I can use marijuana to heal the diseases caused by marijuana.
The globalist are so smart in manipulating the cattle.

There are no “diseases” cauesd by maijuana. Lung problems are from smoking in-general.

Cop Assaults Woman While Searching For Marijuana.

Officer Clemmons forced Ms. Thompson to do roadside sobriety tests, handcuffed the woman and put her in the back of his police car.
According to The News Tribune, Clemmons asked Thompson what she would be willing to do to avoid going to jail. Thompson felt he was asking for a sexual act and changed the subject.
Thompson claims that Clemmons did an invasive search, where he was supposedly looking for marijuana.
“He put [his hand] directly down my shirt and moved it around below the wire in my bra, then he put his hands knuckle-deep into my pants,” Thompson told Q 13 Fox. “He moved it right to left and then down to the front.”
Thompson said Clemmons used his flashlight to look inside her pants and asked to go in her home.
After her handcuffs were removed, Thompson said “no” and Clemmons reportedly grabbed her buttocks and again asked to go in her home, but she refused.

Clemmons pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault and was sentenced to 80 hours of community service and a deferred sentence of 24 months. He will also lose his certification to be a police officer in Washington State.

Smoking cannabis DOESN’T cause clinical anxiety or depression, study finds

New research published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry found that using marijuana as an adult is not associated with a variety of mood and anxiety disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder.

This is a challenge to some previous research which has shown that marijuana use is associated with depression and anxiety.

The researchers examined the records of nearly 35,000 U.S. adults who participated in the National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions. They examined the prevalence of marijuana use among the study participants in 2001 and 2002, then checked on the participants’ rates of mental-health problems three years later in 2004 and 2005.

After controlling for a variety of confounding factors, such as socio-demographic characteristics, family history and environment, and past and present psychiatric disorders, the study found that “cannabis use was not associated with increased risk for developing mood or anxiety disorders.”

Illegal roadside search of Star Trek fan brings $100K settlement; cops plant evidence.

Terrance Huff and his friend were returning from a Star Trek convention in St. Louis when Collinsville, IL Officer Michael Reichert pulled them over [allegedly for ‘weaving’].

Huff’s lawsuit revealed a number of abuses, including an incredible admission from Reichert that he would sometimes wipe marijuana on cars parked in motel parking lots in order to test his drug dog. He’d do this without the owners’ permission. This is significant, because a drug dog’s “alert” is sufficient probable cause for a search. Drug dogs often have poor performance records. Some studies and surveys (including one I did of a K9 unit with the Illinois State Police) have shown that in some jurisdictions, police find measurable quantities of drugs in fewer than half the searches conducted because of an alert. Police will justify those figures by explaining that drug dogs often alert to “residue” or olfactory remnants of where drugs once were. By that logic, Reichert was essentially wiping probable cause on those motorists’ cars or wiping away their Fourth Amendment rights — take your pick.

Researchers from the University of South Carolina say that tetrahydrocannabinol, the principal constituent of marijuana, may have another medical use – treating those with autoimmune disorders.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is known to have analgesic effects so can be used to treat pain. It also aids relaxation and can reduce feelings of nausea and stimulate appetite, making it useful for those undergoing chemotherapy.

Now, a new study, published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, explores how microRNAs are influenced by THC.

Cannabis Can Relieve PTSD in War Veterans

This review shows that recent studies provided supporting evidence that PTSD patients may be able to cope with their symptoms by using cannabis products.

Cannabis may dampen the strength or emotional impact of traumatic memories through synergistic mechanisms that might make it easier for people with PTSD to rest or sleep and to feel less anxious and less involved with flashback memories.

New Hampshire prison official calls to ‘legalize, control, regulate, tax’ marijuana

The head of one jail in New Hampshire said that his experience in the prison system had made him sure that it was time to legalize marijuana.

“If we legalize, control, regulate, tax in the same way that we do for alcohol, we put the illegal drug dealer out of business.”

The 20-year veteran of law enforcement pointed out that it costs about $32,000 to keep each non-violent drug offender incarcerated every year.

“The fact is policies like mandatory minimum sentencing, drug war issues have meant that the United States has had to build over 900 jail beds every two weeks for the last 20 years”

Van Winkler observed that both Washington and Colorado had legalized marijuana and “guess what? The sky is not falling.”

Houston police officer accused of using illegal (marijuana) traffic stops to enable ‘foot fetish’

A Houston-area police officer is accused of trumping up possible charges against at least one woman in order to coerce her into letting him indulge his “foot fetish,” KTRK-TV reported.

Authorities said 26-year-old Patrick Quinn was using his Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District patrol vehicle when he pulled the woman around 3 a.m. one night this past August. However, because he is a school officer, he does not have the authority to conduct traffic stops.

But according to court documents, Quinn told the woman that he smelled marijuana in her car and that her insurance was expired. The woman then reportedly sat in the back of Quinn’s vehicle while he searched the car, at which point he said he had found “drug paraphernalia” inside.

Quinn then allegedly threatened to take the woman to jail unless she allowed him to smell her feet. The woman told officials that he later said he planned to “lick them, too.” When she began to remove her footwear, Quinn then offered giving him her underwear as an alternative, but changed his mind and allowed her to leave.

SWAT Team Barges in Assaults Two Children, Smashes Everything. Whoops Wrong House

(MIAMI) – A SWAT team is under investigation for storming into a home in Coconut Grove at around 11 a.m. with a narcotics warrant.

According to the homeowner, Bobby Mclendon, the warrant that SWAT presented to raid his house was for 2 blocks away. However these brutes did not care.

They came in belligerent, with guns drawn ordering children around like slaves. When the children didn’t react fast enough to the officers’ commands one child was subsequently bludgeoned with the buttstock of a rifle.

“They didn’t have any reason to, but they hit my nephew in the head with their rifle. He’s 13,” recounts Mclendon.

Major Delrish Moss, with Miami PD, said that in all of the chaos of the raid, the 13-year-old was injured when he “ran into an officer’s weapon.”

After assaulting the first child, they went into the room of Mclendon’s 12-year-old son, who was asleep. SWAT ordered the boy out of the bed and to put his hands behind his back. As the boy was complying with their orders, but apparently not fast enough, “they punched him in his left eye,” says Mclendon.

After beating up two children, SWAT wanted more, so they began smashing up the place.

“They broke every single flat screen TV, they broke the play station 4, they broke every single picture frame for whatever reason…..Every single thing they could possibly break, they broke,” said Mclendon.

According to McClendon, officers went to the wrong house because the address on the warrant states 3744 Williams Avenue and the home that was raided was at 3844 Thomas Avenue.

Cops mistook Krispy Kreme doughnut glaze for meth, Orlando man says

Daniel Rushing treats himself to a Krispy Kreme doughnut every other Wednesday. He used to eat them in his car.

            Not anymore.

Not since a pair of Orlando police officers pulled him over, spotted four tiny flakes of glaze on his floorboard and arrested him, saying they were pieces of crystal methamphetamine.

The officers did two roadside drug tests and both came back positive for the illegal substance, according to his arrest report.

He was handcuffed, arrested, taken to the county jail and strip searched, he said.

A state crime lab, however, did another test several weeks later and cleared him.

“It was incredible,” he said. “It feels scary when you haven’t done anything wrong and get arrested. … It’s just a terrible feeling.”

Brazil Supreme Court judge calls for drugs legalization to beat gangs

BRASILIA (Reuters) – A Brazilian Supreme Court justice called on Friday for the legalization of marijuana and even cocaine to undo the growing power of drug gangs behind a wave of violence that has shaken Latin America’s largest country.

Justice Roberto Barroso, a Yale graduate and constitutional law professor, said 50 years of war against drugs had failed miserably, clogging jails with small-time dealers and fueling a violent gang battle for control of the lucrative trade.

“Unlike the United States and Europe where the problem lies in the impact drugs have on consumers, in Brazil the problem lies in the power drug traffickers have over poor communities,” Barroso told Reuters in the court’s modern glass building in Brasilia.

“I can assure you it is only a matter of time. Either we legalize marijuana now or we do it in the future after we have spent billions and incarcerated thousands.”

In Fitchburg Massachusetts the FBI conducted a ‘no-knock’ raid and chainsawed through the door of Judy Sanchez’s apartment. They held her at gunpoint in front of her three year old child for 30 minutes.
About then they realized they had busted through the wrong door.
“I took two steps, face the second door, and I heard the click of a gun, and saying, ‘FBI, get down,’ so I laid down on my living room floor,” “I was screaming, ‘You have the wrong apartment, you have the wrong apartment,’ over fifty times. And then I seen the big blade coming down my door.”
For the FBI this was supposed to have been the culmination of a two-year investigation into a drug and weapons-dealing operation.
In two years they couldn’t figure out the actual apartment.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) originally published a rule regarding industrial hemp products in the Federal Register on October 9, 2001, which was effective immediately, and announced it in a press release. Without any compelling reason or the required public notice and comment period, the DEA issued an Interpretive Rule banning hemp seed and oil food products that contain any amount of trace residual THC.

On February 6, 2004 the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a unanimous decision in favor of the HIA in which Judge Betty Fletcher wrote, “[T]hey (DEA) cannot regulate naturally-occurring THC not contained within or derived from marijuana-i.e. non-psychoactive hemp is not included in Schedule I. The DEA has no authority to regulate drugs that are not scheduled, and it has not followed procedures required to schedule a substance.

Hemp seed is one of nature’s most perfect sources for human nutrition. In addition to its excellent flavor profile, the seed supplies all the essential amino acids in an easily digestible form with a high protein efficiency ratio. Hemp oil offers high concentrations of the two essential fatty acids (EFAs) omega-3 and omega-6 in perfect balance. This superior nutritional profile makes shelled hemp seed and oil ideal for a wide range of functional food applications and as an effective fatty acid supplement.

In 1619, America’s first marijuana law was enacted at Jamestown Colony, Virginia, “ordering” all farmers to “make tryal of” (grow) Indian hempseed. More mandatory (must-grow) hemp cultivation laws were enacted in Massachusetts in 1631, in Connecticut in 1632, and in the Chesapeake Colonies into the mid-1700s.

Even in England, the much-sought-after prize of full British citizenship was bestowed by a decree of the crown on foreigners who would grow cannabis, and fines were often levied against those who refused.

            Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin started one of America’s first paper mills with cannabis. This allowed America to have a free colonial press without having to beg or justify paper and books from England.

Cannabis hemp was legal tender (money) in most of the Americas from 1631 until the early 1800s. Why? To encourage American farmers to grow more.1

            1. Clark, V.S., History of Manufacture in the United States, McGraw Hill, NY, 1929, Pg. 34.

You could pay your taxes with cannabis hemp throughout America for more than 200 years.2

            2. Ibid.

You could even be jailed in America for not growing cannabis during several periods of shortage, e.g., in Virginia between 1763 and 1767.

Now is 11:55pm and three MARIJUANERS parked the car in front of my house playing music very loud (FUNK).
Then I went outside and said: Who’s the driver?
            – Is me.
            – Turn down the sound, it’s bothering me.
            -The street is public.
            – So we will see.
Then I went back inside my house wile the three worms got in the car and left the street.
As you can see, marijuaners don’t respect the quiet of others, but they are cowards, if I were weak they would beat me, but as I am strong they left immediately.
They live in some quarters of my house and they know me.
Now do you want me to believe in a fact that happened in front my house 20 minutes ago or do you want me to believe in your leftists scientists?

          • MikeParent

You sound like a grumpy old man whose veracity is suspect. Previously you said you observed “thousands of marijuanners” in your area. That is totally unbelievable
Again, I’ll take the words of scientists to your unsubstantiated rants.

          • Ralf Yuri

4 years ago I was riding bike in the forest so I saw 3 guys from my neighborhood near the river.
I was going to greet them, so I noticed they were smoking marijuana.
Lucky they did not see me, so I pulled away.
4 years later, the eldest lost a job, woman, car, his parents put him on the street and today he lives in traffic.
            Marijuana? No, cocaine and crack.
The other two are supported by parents who are poor but hardworking people who are supporting stinking 40-year-old vagrants.
I live in a city of half a million inhabitants and for your happiness this trash is destructing children from the age of 9.
            About
1000 , I confused with 100, I always confuse the two words, but on second
thought I present you 1000 of these ZOMBIES in 8 hours here in my
            neighborhood.

          • MikeParent

You lie. How are the “thousands of marijuanners” in your neighborhood doing.

“The globalist are so smart in manipulating the cattle.”?

I didn’t realize that D.A.R.E. and the D.E.A. were run by globalists.

You don’t believe the DEA’s claim that hemp is worse than crack, do you?

      • Ralf Yuri

Does marijuana serve the interests of God or satan?
Do globalists serve the interests of God or satan?

        • kevin_hunt

“Does marijuana serve the interests of God or satan?”

God…according to the Bible. If you believe that the authors of the Bible were correct:

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
          Genesis 1:29

          Psalms 104:14-15 – He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

Genesis 9:3 – Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

Genesis 1:12 – And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

“Do globalists serve the interests of God or satan?”

Are you referring to the Republican prohibitionists that constantly complain that legal states are violating the U.N.’s ban on legalization…because U.S. law should adhere to the U.N.’s laws? Those globalists?

          • Ralf Yuri

            Globalists are the one

In charge of alienating humanity from God and establishing world government and the Luciferian religion.
Your marijuana is very useful for this purpose when being a addiction destroys the morals leaving the person blind.
            Make
no mistake about labels and polarities, Democrats / Republicans, Right / Left, Communism / Capitalism etc, are almost always the two blades
of the scissors that cuts humanity’s connection with Life and with God.

          • kevin_hunt

The Bible does not say that marijuana destroys morals. The drug war does that.

Hookers & blow: Colombian drug cartels funded DEA sex parties with prostitutes

The OIG investigators interviewed a former host-country police officer who told them he had “arranged ‘sex parties’ with prostitutes funded by the local drug cartels for these DEA agents at their government-leased quarters, over a period of several years” from 2005 to 2008. Another foreign officer said that he had provided protection for the DEA agents’ weapons and property during the parties and that “in addition to soliciting prostitutes, three DEA [supervisory axgents] in particular were provided money, expensive gifts, and weapons from drug cartel members.”

A DEA inspector who worked with the investigators told them that “prostitution is considered a part of the local culture and is tolerated in certain areas called ‘tolerance zones,’” and that “it is common for prostitutes to be present at business meetings involving cartel members and foreign officers,” the report states.

          • Ralf Yuri

It is not the Bible that says marijuana destroys morals.
It is in front of your eyes.
Look at the people who were smoking this shit 30 years ago, how are they today?
            Their
daughters became single mothers or prostitutes, their children become
thieves or traffickers, their patrimony melted with the payment of lawyers
to take their children out of jail.
            This
example that I gave you, I use for the marijuaners who offered me this
garbage 30 years ago, today their lives are destroyed and they pass
daily on my sidewalk and do not even have the intelligence to see the
difference between my choice and their choice .

          • kevin_hunt

“Look at the people who were smoking this shit 30 years ago, how are they today?”

Oh yes, look at all of those Silicon Valley millionaires. What a shame.

            “Their
daughters became single mothers or prostitutes, their children become
            thieves or traffickers”?

I don’t know where you get this nonsense, but it sounds like you run with a bad crowd.

          • Ralf Yuri

Silicon Valley millionaires uses the same money that brings marijuana to your family, that is, the money of the globalists.

Do you think bill gay tes, mark zuck, steves joebs, steve balmer are servants fo God?

The name of the game is not” let the people uses what they want”, the name of the game is ” destruction of mankind”, the only way to destruct mankind is by pushing it away from God.

          • kevin_hunt

..said the guy typing on a silicon valley computer using silicon valley software.

Looks like your convictions aren’t strong enough to convince you to stop using their products.

I urge you to boycott the internet, since the folks that have labored to enable you to spread your kooky beliefs are supposedly ‘pushing us away from God’.

          • Ralf Yuri

BILL gayts makes diseases disguised as vaccines to enslave humanity.
These billionaires destroy millions of lives by making the satan agenda, then take a pittance and “donate” to the poor.
In case you do not know, we the servants of God do not need charity on the part of satan’s servants.
As for the internet and the pc, unfortunately we use products made by satanic companies, from milk, rice, gas, petro, etc.
            The
globalists erected the valley of silicon, but not to give us access to
information, did to steal data of humanity and to induce behavior, see
that people only uses the net for FB, Whats up and games.
Technology is used as a means of enslavement, it has nothing to do with progress, it is social engineering, there are exceptions cause the control of satan is never total even in his house, see that God placed Joseph and Moses over Egypt.
            I USE LINUX

It looks like you haven’t been able to match Gates and Zuckerburg’s charitable contributions to society. Pathetic tinfoil hat phony Christian.

          • Ralf Yuri

Satan’s servants do charity as a way to disguise their crimes against humanity.

He who follows God does not need charity (I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread).

            Psalm 37:25

On July 28, 2014, Reason TV released “Do You Have It Up Your A ss?”: Drug Warriors in New Mexico Go Too Far. Incorporating footage from cameras on the dashboards and lapels of New Mexico law enforcement officers, the program tells the story of Timothy Young, a man who was pulled over in Lordsburg, New Mexico, for a traffic violation in October 2012.

Hidalgo County deputies looking for drugs searched Young’s truck for more than two hours. After a K9 deputy claimed that his dog Leo alerted on the driver’s seat of Young’s truck, deputies obtained a search warrant to search Young’s body. Deputies then drove Young to the Gila Regional Medical Center, located an hour north in Silver City, New Mexico. Young was X-rayed and, while still in handcuffs, subjected to a digital search of his anal cavity. No drugs were found.

There is more to the story, however. Just three months after the Young incident, David Eckert was pulled over in front of a Walmart for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign in Deming, a small town about an hour east of Lordsburg. Eckert was about to begin a 14-hour ordeal. Once again, law enforcement officers called in the dog, Leo, and once again his trainer claimed that the dog alerted on the driver’s seat.

Deputies obtained a warrant and brought Eckert to the hospital in Deming, New Mexico, where a doctor refused to conduct an anal cavity search, calling it unethical. Undeterred, deputies drove Eckert an hour north to another hospital, where doctors had agreed to search Young’s anal cavity. While at the Gila Regional Medical Center, Eckert was X-rayed, digitally probed, forced to endure several enemas, and ultimately put under and given a colonoscopy without his consent. Once again, no drugs were found.

Young and Eckert sued all the parties involved. So far, Young has been awarded $925,000 from Hidalgo County, and Eckert has been awarded $1.6 million from Hidalgo County and the city of Deming.

Entire Florida police department busted for laundering millions for international drug cartels

The Bal Harbour PD and the Glades County Sheriff’s Office set up a giant money laundering scheme
with the purported goal of busting drug cartels and stemming the surge of drug dealing going on in the area. But it all fell apart when federal investigators and the Miami-Herald found strange things going on.

The two-year operation, which took in more than $55 million from criminal groups, resulted in zero arrests
but netted $2.4 million for the police posing as money launderers. Members of the 12-person task force traveled far and wide to carry out their deals, from Los Angeles to New York to Puerto Rico.

Along the way, the small-town cops got a taste of luxury as they used the money for first-class flights, luxury hotels, Mac computers and submachine guns. Meanwhile, the Bal Harbour PD and Glades County
Sheriffs were buying all sorts of fancy new equipment.

Besides these “official” uses of the money, confidential records obtained by the Miami-Herald show that officers withdrew hundreds of thousands of dollars with no record of where the money went.

          • Ralf Yuri

I guess I have understood, we get down the police and get up marijuana, is this?

Jose Guerana, an Iraq war veteran was gunned down by an AZ SWAT team who was trying to reach their quota of marijuana raids. No drugs were found. The officers denied paramedics access to their victim and allowed Guerena to bleed to death in front of his 4 year old son.

Under the terms of a settlement, the family of Jose Guerena will receive $3.4 million from the various police agencies involved in his death.
