Obama Admits On TV He Does NOT Support Gay Marriage

In this video President Obama tells the Saddleback Civil Forum why he does not support gay marriage

During Obama’s presidential campaign in 2008, he told the audience that he views marriage as a union strictly between a man and a woman, and assured the audience that he would not support a Constitutional definition of marriage.

He said that it is up to the individual States to decide how marriage is defined, and not the federal government.

One of the commentators on the video says:

“Don’t be surprised people, politicians rarely get to do things they agree with, they do what will “please” the majority if and only when they have something to gain from doing so.

Its likely they just legalized same sex marriage so people are busy celebrating and meanwhile they’re passing other laws we might dislike and doing something they don’t want us to know about, always the same thing.”

The correct headline would have been “in 2008 Obama admitted on TV he does not support gay marriage.” Look at the polls across the country that shows how support for gay marriage across all segments of society has grown in the past 7 years. Millions of Americans have experienced an “evolution of thought” through personal interaction with gays and/or growing awareness of the issues involved.

So basically just like most Christians he’s read the bible, picked out the things he personally agrees with and discarded the rest, then used those cherry picked verses to back up his own opinions. Unfortunately for El Presidente U.S law is based on secular principals and not religious ones, so there are no stonings of disobedient children, no burnings of witches, no executions for people working on the sabbath, no victims of rape having to marry their rapist, no subjugation of women and…..oh that’s right, NO SLAVERY! Now unless he can find a way in which legalizing gay marriage would have a negative affect on certain people or society as a whole then sorry Mr Obama but you don’t get to deny an entire class of people the same rights as everyone else just because you think they’re “icky”.

By the way, it’s easy to talk about how fine it is to settle for civil unions when you don’t have to, I wonder if you’d say the same thing to your children when they get engaged.
