“We will Barry you!” – Nikita Khrushchev, November 18. 1956
Nikita Khrushchev was leader of the Soviet Union until 1964. He was known for being able to predict the long term result of political strategy. His accurate foresight led him to state:
“You Americans are so gullible! We don’t have to invade you! We will destroy you from within, without firing a shot! We won’t have to fight you; we’ll so weaken your economy, until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands.”
After Obama’s State of the Union speech last night, Khrushchev’s words should particularly resonate with us now.
Time and time again, Khrushchev called it right. Over fifty years ago he foresaw the America we love slipping silently through our fingers. He saw the inability of the American people to stop the decline and he knew we would wake up too late to do so. He didn’t live long enough to see his predictions come to pass, but he knew. He knew then that we would not understand until it was too late.
“We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have communism.”
Khrushchev’s most astounding prediction came in the fall of 1956 during a diplomatic reception at the Polish embassy in Moscow.
“Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!”
~ Nikita Khrushchev, 1956
Khrushchev predicted that America, the omnipotent world superpower would fall. It would not fall to superior military prowess, but to the insidious incursion of socialistic pressure from our “elected leaders” which would destroy our economy and bring about our demise. Little did we suspect that fifty years earlier he had actually named the primary weapon which would be used against the citizens of the United States to bring about this demise. His most remembered words were:
” . . . we will bury you”
It’s not a laughing matter, but we are indeed, being Barry’d.
