According to Facebook user Raymond Johansen – around 80 troops have moved into Paris today after the Charlie Hebdo terror attack on Wednesday in which 12 people were killed.
The picture below shows what appear to be French army tanks being transported on a truck.
Raymond Johansen says of this picture “The special isolated incident in Paris will be used to prove that we NEED mass surveilance. Also 80 troops moved into Paris today. There are things happening now that are threatening our whole “way of life””
The idea of french troops patrolling the streets of Paris isn’t far fetched – the military were present immediately after the attacks in Paris while the attackers were still on the loose. However, 80 troops and tanks being sent in is a worrying development if true.
On Wednesday The Daily Mail reported:
Heavily armed soldiers are patrolling the streets of Paris today as three gunmen who attacked the offices of controversial magazine Charlie Hebdo remain on the loose.
The French government has upped security at train stations, places of worship, newspaper offices and public spaces this afternoon after 12 people, including police officers and journalists, were shot dead earlier today.
Soldiers wearing green berets, dressed in combat fatigues, and carrying Famas assault rifles have been pictured in front of the Eiffel Tower and inside Montparnasse railway station.
