Jared Fogle, ‘The Subway Guy” To Plead Guilty On Child Porn Charges

Jared Fogle

Back in July, we wrote about how Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle had his home raided by FBI agents on suspected child pornography charges.

At the time, his attorney said: “Jared has been cooperating, and continues to cooperate, with law enforcement in their investigation of unspecified charges and looks forward to its conclusion,” attorney Ron Elberger said in an email. “He has not been detained, arrested or charged with any crime or offense.”

Earlier this month, things started to turn grim for Fogle, when we reported on alleged text messages the FBI had subpoenaed between Fogle and a 16 year old Subway franchise employee.

Jared Fogle To Plead Guilty

Reports today now indicate that Fogle is expected to plead guilty to child pornography charges.

KTLA reported: Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle is expected to plead guilty to charges related to possession of child pornography, two law enforcement officials told CNN on Tuesday.

Sources told WXIN in Indianapolis that Fogle will accept a plea deal. The U.S. Attorney’s Office will hold a press conference on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the deal and charges against Fogle.

Subway, the giant American sandwich chain has made it clear they are no longer involved in any way with Fogle.

Celebrity news site TMZ reported: The former Subway spokesperson was a target of a federal investigation which included a raid on his home last month, in which several computers were seized … allegedly containing child porn.

Law enforcement tells us Fogle will plead guilty to possession of child pornography. Charges have not been filed but we’re told that will happen at the same time the plea deal is announced.

Jared Fogle’s sentencing will be made by a judge, and will likely come this week.  Fogle has been an inspirational spokesperson to many across the country for over 15 years.  His claim to fame was losing massive amounts of weight from eating only at Subway.
