The Muppets are back on T.V and the stars of the show are single and free once again.
Miss Piggy and Hermit the frog have gone their separate ways but remain professionally attached. The stars of The Muppets announced the surprising news of their separation during a promotional for their new mockumentary series on ABC, ‘Up Late with Miss Piggy.’
The loving couple shocked a generation of fans when they revealed their plans to date other people, including pigs and frogs.
The 10 minute video shows all the Muppets getting excited with the prospect of a new show. Miss Piggy is as gorgeous as ever showing no signs of age while acquiring a sophisticated beauty. She can also speak French. All the usual Muppets including Kermit and some new characters are hoping for a spot in the limelight again. They deserve it if the video is anything to go by.
Kermit is rumored to be already romantically involved with a member of the film crew from the new series.
The Evening Standard reports:
Kermit said of his interspecies relationship: “Piggy and I have gone our separate ways, romantically.”
In a post on her official Facebook page, Piggy confirmed that the pair will remain professional and are free to date “other people, pigs [and] frogs”.
“After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, Kermit the Frog and moi have made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship,” she posted.
“We will continue to work together on television (“The Muppets”/Tuesdays 8pm this fall on ABC) and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe.
“However, our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al. This is our only comment on this private matter… unless we get the right offer. Thank you for your understanding.”

You were never supposed to see this. Here’s the pitch that convinced ABC to make a show with The Muppets!
A 10 minute clip ahead of the new ABC series shows that the pair have clearly wasted no time in moving on.
Kermit is dating a pig called Denise, who works in the marketing department at ABC, while Piggy plants a lingering kiss on Topher Grace’s lips – in front of her ex.
The new show will focus on the behind-the-scenes goings on of Piggy’s own late-night talk show which will feature guests including Reese Witherspoon.
